Art From My Childhood

These are some of the drawings I did when I was a kid, based on my planned 9-Book PGW sci-fi/fantasy series, my drafted and crafted but incomplete saga.

The flag and emblem of the Trylanian Empire

A Trylanian Spit Fire gun ship. It is a powerful fighter/bomber that is over sixety feet long and is operated by a crew of four.

This is one of the first versions of the Trylanian Planet Smasher that I drew when I was around 8 or 9 years old. It is the capital warship of the Trylanian Empire and is over a mile long.

The forward section of the vessel is essentially hollow and has decks along the sides for starfighter landing and storage.

Cutaway showing the interior launch bay, with landing decks along the sides. When the ship goes into battle, the decks are protected by strong deflector shields and deflect laser and energy weapons toward the back of the ship. Tthe narrow tube in the center aft section of the ship is an energy dispersion tube, designed to channel any enemy fire shot into the interior, through and out of the the ship to avoid damage.

My last, and most detailed drawing of the Planet Smasher. I think I was about 17 or 18 when I did this one.

What is troubling to me is that the new Republic Star Destroyer seen in Revenge of the Sith is strikingly familiar in general shape to my Planet Smasher, both the early and later drawn versions of it. Well, just know that I designed this vessel 20 years before the new Star Wars waship was put to the screen. People will still think that I copied the shape and details from the Star Wars ship. I'll have to redesign the ship somewhat.
